International Coordinating Committee (ICC)

The ICC was formed in 2012 to assist the MIT community in the coordination of international activities and strengthen the support provided by MIT’s administrative offices and functions.

Over the years, the scope and complexity of MIT’s international activities has continued to grow, and each country and project can raise unique questions and concerns related to risk; safety and security; legal, tax, and financial compliance; and culture. The ICC helps faculty, students, and staff navigate and resolve these complex issues, as well as facilitate the MIT community’s international negotiations and initiate projects to improve MIT’s international policies and procedures.

The ICC is staffed and coordinated by the Office of the Vice Provost for International Activities, and its work is done through its members, who represent a range of central administrative offices.

The ICC currently includes the following offices and designated representatives:

The Negotiations Group also calls on subject matter experts as needed from areas such as the International Students Office, the International Scholars Office, Human Resources, and Environment, Health & Safety.
