About the International Coordinating Committee

The scope and complexity of MIT’s international activities have grown significantly in recent years. Every country and project can raise unique questions, concerns, and procedures related to risk, safety and security, legal, tax and financial compliance, and culture.

Our mission is to help faculty, students, and staff navigate and resolve these complex issues. We look forward to assisting you.

The International Coordinating Committee (ICC) was formed in 2012 by Claude Canizares, Vice President (International), and Israel Ruiz, Executive Vice President and Treasurer. The ICC is composed of staff from 18 different MIT offices and departments and is charged with assisting the MIT community in the coordination of international activities, and strengthening the support provided by MIT’s administrative offices and functions.
